Roof Leak Detection & Repair
A roof leak rarely appears directly below where the water is getting in — water travels along timbers and plasterboard before it finds a point to drip through onto your ceiling. We trace the leak back to its source, inspecting tiles, slates, flashing, leadwork, and ridge tiles to find the entry point. Repairs are targeted and cost-effective: replacing individual slipped or broken tiles, resealing flashing, repointing ridge tiles, or patching a flat roof section.

Flat Roof Waterproofing
Flat roofs are inherently more vulnerable to water ingress than pitched roofs, which is why the waterproofing system matters so much. We install modern EPDM rubber membranes — a single-piece, flexible material that lasts 25–30 years and handles the thermal expansion and contraction that causes older felt systems to crack. For balconies and terraces, we use liquid-applied waterproofing that creates a seamless, joint-free membrane.

Tile & Slate Roof Repair
Over time, individual tiles and slates crack, slip, or become dislodged by wind. Left unrepaired, a single missing tile lets water into the roof space where it can rot timbers and soak insulation. We match replacement tiles and slates to your existing roof — keeping a stock of common sizes and colours, and sourcing reclaimed tiles where necessary for older properties. For roofs with widespread deterioration, we can quote for a full recovering.

Gutter Repair, Cleaning & Replacement
Blocked or leaking gutters cause water to cascade down external walls rather than being channelled away — leading to damp penetration, brickwork damage, and in winter, dangerous ice patches. We clear blocked gutters and downpipes, reseal leaking joints, refix sagging brackets, and where the guttering is beyond repair, replace it with new UPVC, cast iron effect, or aluminium systems. We recommend gutter clearance at least twice a year.

Chimney Repointing & Repair
Chimney stacks are exposed to the worst of the weather and are often the first part of a roof to need attention. Crumbling mortar joints let water into the stack where freeze-thaw cycles accelerate the deterioration. We rake out the old, soft mortar and repoint with fresh, weather-resistant mortar mixed to match the original colour. We also repair or replace chimney pots, renew the flaunching, and replace damaged lead flashing.

Fascia, Soffit & Bargeboard Replacement
Rotting timber fascias and soffits aren't just unsightly — they expose the ends of roof timbers to the elements and can let birds and insects into the roof space. We replace deteriorated timber with low-maintenance UPVC fascias and soffits that never need painting and include built-in ventilation to keep the roof space airflow healthy. We also fit bird comb to prevent nesting under the eaves.

Loft Insulation Installation
A poorly insulated loft is the single biggest source of heat loss in most homes — up to 25% of your heating can escape through the roof. We install mineral wool insulation to the current Building Regulations recommended depth of 270mm, either as a fresh installation or as a top-up over existing thin insulation. We ensure ventilation gaps are maintained at the eaves and insulate and lag any pipes and water tanks in the loft.

It depends on the job. Simple tile replacements at the eaves can often be done from a ladder. Chimney work and full roof sections typically require scaffolding — we'll arrange it and include the cost in your quote.
A professionally installed EPDM rubber membrane should last 25–30 years. Felt systems typically 15–20 years. We only use modern, high-performance materials.
Emergency temporary repairs can be done in most weather. Permanent repairs need dry conditions for adhesives and mortar to cure properly. We'll tarp and secure your roof until conditions allow.
